Association History
The dynamic founders of the West Coast World Martial Arts Association are Maters Ernie Reyes and Tony Thompson they were World Class fighters and forms competitors. They both graduated from San Jose State University.
Master Ernie Reyes was honored on national television as being one of the "Greatest Masters of the 20th Century," produced by Wesley Snipes on (TNT) television productions. He is also a member of the, "Black Belt Hall of Fame," for producing (7) national champions in one year, including himself. -On June 22, 2002 Master Reyes was awarded a "Life Time Achievement Award" by the National Association of Professional Martial Artist. For his extraordinary dynamic demonstrations and trainer of champions for 25 years.
The association consist of affiliated martial art schools throughout the United States. The association has had a legendary reputation for producing some of the finest Black Belt students in world for 25 years. All schools are independently owned and operated.
The West Coast World Martial Arts Association has been featured on every major martial arts magazine in the United States and Europe. They have been awarded the highest honors in the industry for their martial art instruction and running professional martial art school in the world, by Educational Funding Company.
Main stream publicity from local to national newspapers, L.A. Times to USA Today, have featured their talents. National talk show, CNN News, as well as, People Magazine, have covered their unique and interesting story.
European Budo Magazine called The Ernie Reyes West Coast World Action Team demonstration team the best in the world. The team has been in demand, performed, acted and thrilled audiences of all ages from East Coast to West Coast. The team has toured world wide representatives have performed in: Turkey, Germany, Mexico Switzerland, Canada, Korea, Tahiti, Hawaii, Australia, Venezuela, Thailand, Italy, Alaska, Caribbean and England.
Destiny took it's course of action. Ernie Reyes' creative martial arts genius eventually led Ernie Reyes Jr. and his team to Hollywood to star in movie films and his own television series.
Benefits of our martial art system
The association's system of martial arts training is a blending of traditional and modern state of the art training that offers you not only an effective self defense program but a means for personal development and discipline that will lead to success in other areas of your life.
Our mixed martial arts system will teach you Korean Tae Kwon Do, the art of kicking, American boxing, Thai kick boxing, Filipino knife and stick fighting, Japanese and Chinese weapon training training, practical street self defense techniques, and submission grappling from the ground. Also special classes and seminars are available in personal protection and family protection courses called (CDT) Non-Deadly Force for personal and family protection. Many of our instructors are certified Tactical Masters.
You will learn how to become a peak performer in the martial arts, combative arts, and performing arts by studying our Black Belt Success System. With this formula for success you will have the skills to handle the constant pressures of everyday living more successfully, in all areas of your life, whether at home, at school, work, or play.
Mater Ernie Reyes took Tony Robbins' certification course. You will be instructed in Goal Setting, State Management (controlling how you feel, act, behave), and CANI (commitment to constant and never ending improvement) through your martial arts training. Indomitable Spirit, Respect, and discipline built on the foundation of a powerful work ethic, is only the tip of the iceberg of many personal life skills you you will learn at West Coast World Martial Arts Association schools.

Ernie Reyes, Sr. Earns the Martial Arts Industry Association Lifetime Achievement Award!
7/21/2007 - Master Ernie Reyes, Sr., an innovative and committed leader in the American martial arts community for over 30 years, was honored with Martial Arts Industry Association Lifetime Achievement Award. This distinguished honor was presented to Master Reyes in front of an audience of over 3,000 at the Martial Arts Super Show in Las Vegas on July 5, 2007. This award emphasizes Master Reyes’ entire focus on helping people of all ages strive to reach their highest level of potential and living, through the martial arts process. His unconditional love stimulates, inspires, and leads others to become the best they can possibly be. “I believe the martial arts are one of the greatest gifts and treasures of life to create positive change in people’s lives. And I’m totally certain it is my noble calling in life,” states Master Reyes.

Master Dan Haney
Dan Haney’s martial art background – The quick version! Dan Haney started martial arts in June of 1986. He began teaching martial arts at the age of 15, when he was a gold belt, because he was his instructor’s first student and the school needed help. His favorite training activity was sparring and he soon developed in to a championship fighter. Dan received his 1st black belt at the age of 17. The main reason why Dan wanted to open up his own martial arts studio is because he had seen & experienced many different instructors teach it the wrong way. Frustrated with this, he opened his own martial arts school in 1991 with partner & long time friend Mark Gajdostik. In 1992 Dan founded Haney Martial Arts and started teaching and training in mixed martial arts; Tae kwon-do, Ju-Jitsu & weapons. In the summer of 1999, Dan’s former instructor introduced him to (Hall of Fame member) Master Ernie Reyes Sr., the founder of creative Karate. Dan instantly fell in love with the Ernie Reyes’ World West Coast Association, staff, & team of professional master instructors and joined the association. Dan had definitely found a martial arts home and Master, with Ernie Reyes Sr.
